AI & Process Automation Specialist (m/f/d)

Samsung SDI Battery Systems is a global technology leader in e-mobility. Together with our customers in the automotive industry, we develop and test innovative battery systems for automotive applications based on state-of-the-art lithium ion technology.

The technology center of Samsung SDI Battery Systems is located in Kalsdorf, Austria, close to Graz. Samsung SDI is a full-service supplier for lithium ion cells, battery modules and battery packs for all electric vehicles as well as all types of hybrid vehicles.

Your core responsibilities are:

  • Analyze and optimize quality-related processes by identifying automation opportunities using AI and digital technologies
  • Develop AI-supported solutions to reduce manual work and improve efficiency in quality operations
  • Design and implement automated reporting, dashboards, and data evaluation tools
  • Develop and maintain interfaces between quality systems, databases, testing equipment, and other software applications
  • Automate data collection, processing, and validation workflows across different systems
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, IT, and Product Development teams to implement digital solutions
  • Evaluate and integrate modern AI technologies (e.g. Large Language Models, Copilots, intelligent assistants) to support daily business processes
  • Continuously improve existing workflows through automation, scripting, and process digitalization
  • Take full ownership of digitalization projects from concept through implementation, driving initiatives independently with a proactive, self-driven, and hands-on mindset
  • Conduct training sessions, gather user feedback, and continuously refine developed solutions together with stakeholders and key users to maximize business value

What you need is:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in process automation, digitalization, or software development
  • Strong programming skills in Python; experience with APIs and system integration is highly desirable
  • Basic knowledge of PyQt for desktop application development, including application architecture and event-driven programming
  • Basic knowledge of Windows automation via Win32 COM interfaces, ideally with experience automating engineering tools such as Vector CANape using APIs or ASAP3 interfaces
  • Basic knowledge of Java for desktop applications, ideally including JavaFX-based UI development
  • Experience working with databases (SQL) and data processing
  • Knowledge of AI technologies, automation frameworks, or machine learning applications in business processes
  • Experience with scripting, workflow automation, or low-code automation platforms is an advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on mindset
  • Proactive, self-driven personality with the ability to independently identify opportunities, prioritize work, and take full ownership of delivering solutions
  • Excellent communication skills in English and German
  • Ability to work in cross-functional and international teams

Our offer for you:

With regard to the Austrian Equal Treatment Act, we offer the following annual gross remuneration (full time/38.5 hours) as a basis for negotiations for this position: EUR 63.000,-

We also offer a market-standard overpayment depending on relevant work experience and qualifications.
